We can all unanimously agree that cheaper alternatives to expensive makeup is a complete lifesaver. Luckily for makeup lovers who don’t want to break the bank, drugstore is beginning to step up their game in the quality of their products for amazingly low prices. Which leads me to this little post that I have prepared a couple of my favourite lipsticks from the drugstore that could potentially be good alternatives to higher end lipsticks. Hope you lovelies enjoy!

Firstly, I just want to say I’m only listing down stick lipsticks since I don’t have a lot of drugstore liquid lipsticks in my collection. Not any that I would recommend anyway because they’re just not my favourites. I know there are a lot of liquid lipsticks like NYX and the new Maybelline ones that are available which I may review in the future if you want me to but we’ll see! Okay, now onto the post.

This lipstick has been around for as long as I can remember. My mum always had it on her makeup counter whether in red or pink and now it’s become one of my favourite lipstick lines. Now Revlon is more on the expensive side of drugstore makeup if that makes any sense. This lipstick retails for $22.95 AUD in But you do save quite a lot of money compared to lipsticks in shops like Mecca or Sephora.

This product has four finishes; a matte, crème, pearl and sheer. The line consists of a hefty amount of 80 shades so I think it’s safe to say that you will most likely get the shade you want. Pigmentation of the mattes and crème are absolutely beautiful as well as the pearls and sheers which provide a lovely healthy shine to your lips. They are also very long lasting and you can always strengthen its longevity by applying one layer on your lips then blotting with a tissue paper before applying another layer. Just a little easy hack for you in case you didn’t know. Also, it doesn’t have much of a scent if that bothers you in any way.

This product retails for $10.95 AUD in The formula is honestly properly explained within the name; it is a moisture matte finish with excellent pigmentation on the first swipe. From the shade range, it has a nice mixture of bold and bright colours which can cater to quite a number of skin tones. This one also doesn’t have much of a scent going on so you’re safe if that’s within your concern somehow. And it lasts all day depending on what you eat or… what you do, I don’t know. But yeah, this is a good product and I highly recommend!

This is one lipstick line that I have seen as a favourite amongst a few beauty gurus and after actually trying it, I can confidently say that I can understand what they’re raving about. This is an amazing formula with amazing pigmentation and a beautiful colour range. It retails for $17.95 AUD in Now this one has a tiny, faint sweet scent but it’s not too overpowering that you might faint. I think it will be liveable. There are many versions of this lipsticks like ‘blushed’, ‘nude’ or ‘bold’ versions and they’re separated in categories but the one I have is apparently in the creamy mattes section so there you go. But there is definitely a wide range of colours here that you can choose from.

Of course, there are plenty other lipsticks that are around in drugstores which you can put down in the comments for others to see! But this is my round up of three top drugstore lipstick lines that I think a lot of makeup lovers can appreciate.

That is it for today, lovelies! I hope you like the new layout of the blog, I kind of wanted to do a newer design and work on new content to put on here for the next half of the year. Hope you found this post helpful and if you have any questions, just list them down below and I will try to get to them as soon as possible. And I will see you again soon, bye! – A.
