CLINIQUE 2-IN-1 BEYOND PERFECTING FOUNDATION AND CONCEALER REVIEW

Hey everyone! I’m sure by the title you could already be familiar with this product since it boosted up in popularity in the makeup industry when it released. Or you might not know what I’m talking about but either way, I managed to get my shipping in and give myself a few days to test this product out so I can give you some of my thoughts on it. Hopefully you lovelies find it helpful so enjoy!

First and foremost, I’m just going to say I’m so sorry that I’ve been quiet this whole week with posts. Everything just piled onto me all at once and I wasn’t able to get content together and I didn’t want to give you something that I didn’t fully prepare for. So I hope you can excuse my absence, I promise I’ll get better at juggling everything at once.

Now onto the review.

The Clinique 2-in-1 Beyond Perfecting Foundation and Concealer retails for $52.00 AUD at clinique.com.au. The shade range mostly consists of pink or beige undertones with a total of 21 shades. Since it is foundation and concealer combined, it does have a thicker consistency rather than a regular foundation. The coverage is quite full depending on the condition of your skin, of course. The finish is semi-matte and it is very long lasting throughout the day depending on how you set it and your skin type.

The whole concept of a foundation combined with a concealer is very intelligent since it’s perfect for when you’re in a rush or you’re travelling and other scenarios like that. This product is very easy to blend out and doesn’t need a lot of work to get a nice finish so it makes your work even easier. If you set it well depending on your skin type, this foundation lasts for a maximum amount of roughly six-seven hours until it starts breaking apart a little. But this is for my oily skin type so your experience can be different.

When trying it under my eyes, it did crease a lot more than I’m familiar with and I found myself going back to blend it out again just to get rid of it. But I’m sure if you set it quickly it shouldn’t be much of a problem. Also try not to wait too long before blending it because if you wait a little too long, I discovered that you can kind of see patchiness in the application. This is a problem with a very easy solution, just be quick when blending and you’ll be fine.

One down-fall for this foundation line is the shade range. While 21 shades sound like a nice number, the undertones are more on the pink or beige side which is not very common with people of colour. Also, my shade (which was a little tiny bit too pink and light for me) is the second darkest shade and I have quite an amount of shades after me in reality. So that was one disappointment because people who are darker than me won’t be able to make use of this foundation line.

For the pricing, I think I can safely assume that Clinique is leaning more on the high-end side even though this foundation is a lot cheaper than some other high-end foundations I have seen. This is definitely a cheaper alternative if you’re looking to save some dollars!

Overall, I think this foundation + concealer is amazing to have in your kit because it’s just so easy to use it without a lot of trouble. I highly recommend you try this product if you’re ever looking for a foundation to use!

And that is it, beauties! I hope you found this post helpful and it’s given a little bit of an indication as to what this product is all about. I know these trendy products can be hard to keep up with and I feel your struggle since I’m already technically ‘late’ with this product. But I hope I’m making a little bit easier. If you have any questions, let me know in the comments down below and I will see you guys again soon. Bye! – A.
