Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is out in cinemas! I am so excited to watch it next weekend and the whole excitement really inspired me to do this makeup look. Honestly my first thought was purple and red immediately when I was working on this tutorial. It’s very simple and it’s something that you can wear if you’re not entirely comfortable with a lot of color since it’s not too in your face. At least compared to some other looks I have done on myself in the past. I hope you beauties enjoy!

The first thing I went in with (after my whole skincare routine) Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer just around nose and forehead area along with other places where my natural oils start coming in. Then I followed up with my favourite NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in Cadiz as the first layer and then I built it up with Syracuse so I get my perfect shade. This was all blended out with just a regular tear drop beauty sponge.
Next, I used my NARS Creamy Radiant Concealer under my eyes, on the tip of my nose, forehead, cupid’s bow and chin just to highlight and conceal everything that the foundation left off. This concealer is honestly the best thing; I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a good high-end concealer. This was also blended out with the beauty sponge.
To set the entire base, I used Revlon Colour Stay Press Powder in Medium/Moyen with fluffy face brush just to keep everything intact. Since I do get very oily skin whenever I go out somewhere, I follow up by using my NARS Soft Velvet Loose Powder in Mountain just to make sure my makeup can stick on my face for a bit longer.
Since I will be using a lot of colors on my eyes, I decided to use a very light amount of blush just to bring life back onto my face. I used my Revlon Powder Blush in Wine Not. Revlon has the best blushes in my opinion so check them out when you get the chance.
First off I primed my eyes with concealer and then set it with powder so it will be easier to blend eyeshadows later on. I used Salted Caramel from the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette as a transition colour because using colours like purple or red, it helps to use transitions and then build up with darker colours.
Then I went in with Colourpop Super Shock Shadows in Paradox in my outer corner and crease. It took quite a while to blend everything out properly since this formula is so unique from any ordinary eye-shadow but in the end, the colour payoff was stunning. I took the same colour and put in on my inner corners to achieve that halo eye look. Everything was blended out with a fluffy blending eye brush – the one I used is from Makeup Show (7S 01).
Instead of adding a lighter accent colour in the halo look, I decided to go for something similar to the crease colour which was Drift from Colourpop once again. Using my finger I swiped the colour right in the middle where there is no eye-shadow present. Afterwards I took the same blending brush and just blended the corners out just to make sure that everything is clean.
For the bottom lash line, again from Colourpop (I have been loving using their eyeshadows!), I used Dare which is this gorgeous purple metallic and I just swiped it close to my lower lash line. For this I used a shadow smudge brush from Makeup Show (9E 01).
I finished off the eyeshadow by placing Champagne Truffle from the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette in my inner corners just to give my eyes that little pop. To pull everything together, I put generous coats of the Urban Perversion Mascara to really enhance my natural lashes since I’m not a big fan of using fake lashes. To give my eyes more definition since we used so much colour, I put a very thin layer of eyeliner using the Maybelline New York Hyper Sharp Wing.
Last but not least, I used Jordana Easyliner for Lips in Coco Loco to define my lips and then follow it up with Maybelline Matte Lipstick in Darlingly Nude.
And that is it, my beauties! I hope you liked this makeup tutorial, I thought it’d be a good mixture of something fun yet simple. You could wear this going to the movies watching Guardians of the Galaxy or for a party inspired by Marvel or literally anything you want! I will see you lovelies very soon for my next post. Bye! – A.
