There are liquid lipsticks, lip stains, lip lacquers, lip glosses and the list goes on forever. But in this review, we’re going to be looking at the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils. These is not a new product launch but in the time I’ve tried it, I decided to list a few things that you may want to consider before purchasing it. Let’s take a look!
NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils retail for $39.00 AUD at mecca.com.au. The type of finish is in the name; it has a velvet matte finish so it’s not too drying but still long wearing. It is very pigmented on one swipe on the lips and has a very faint, almost non-existent scent. Unless you have a really strong sense of smell, of course.
One tip I would suggest to you is to hydrate your lips before applying these lip pencils. While they are creamy and pigmented, it’s not very kind to chapped/dry lips. But this is true to all matte lipsticks because its texture can tug or settle at dry patches and cracks etc. Besides that the product is very comfortable to wear and long wearing.
Another point that I want to state regarding the packaging is that cap. If you’re experiencing that annoyance where the lid pops off when you try to close the lip pencil, it’s because air gets trapped into the cap and it prevents the product from closing properly. So try to make the brim of the cap touch the lip pencil so there’s no air blocking it from closing properly.
In regards to pricing, the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil is 2.4 grams and generally lip products depending on how many you have do last a very long time. And in terms of quality I do for a high end brand this is an acceptable price but of course, that’s always for you as a customer to decide! Overall, I definitely recommend the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil to you beauties.
And that’s it for today! Hope you guys found this review informative and helpful. If you have any questions whatsoever, let me know in the comments down below. Also, if you have purchased this product let us know how it worked out for you. I will see you again next Saturday, bye lovelies! – A.
